Q: What is it ?
A: The Blaster 360 CK3 Edition is a switching tool that enables you to connect your 360 DVD drive to your PC externally to the Xbox 360 to be able to
update your firmware without ever opening the case again.
Q:
Will it work with all Xbox 360 DVD drives ?
A: It has been tested on ALL drives including all the Hitachis, Samsung MS25 and MS28, Benq, Liteon 74850 (Probe v1 required - included), 83850v1, 83850v2 (CK3 Probe v2 or LT Switch required - sold seperatley) and 93450 (CK3 Probe v2 or LT Switch required - sold seperatley).
Q: Do I have to open up the case to install this?
A: Yes, just once.
Q: How long does it take to install?
A: In our experience about 10 minutes. If you go SLOW and REALLY take your time - then 20 minutes.
Q: Is there an installation tutorial
?
A: Yes:

Q: Do I need any special tools to open up the case.
A: We provide a special unlocking tool to open up your Xbox 360
case. We also provide a Torx 10 screwdriver - both free of charge
with the Blaster.
Q: Can I rip/backup original 360 games to my PC using this?
A: Yes of course. Simply Use the 0800 firmware for that drive and Xbox Backup Creator. We recommend using a BENQ Drive.
Q: Do I have to solder anything?
A: If you have a Liteon 83850v2 or a Liteon 93450 then these drives require whats known as the MRA hack to extract the DVD Key. This can be done using a CK3 Probe v2 or an LT Switch. Both require small trace cuts and a tiny bit of soldering. There are plenty of guides on the forums showing you how to do this.
Q: Do I have to cut the case?
A: There is absolutely no physical damage to the case whatsoever -
inside or out. You don't even have to remove any metal shielding
from the case like you do with other products.
Q: What is the ModeB switch for?
A: It is used with Hitachi drives (not 78 or 79 versions) to give you a drive letter in Windows WINAPI mode.
Q: What is Modeb
?
A: Modeb (or Debug Mode) is a function where the drive switches
itself into a state where it can be recognized in Windows.
Q: How do you power cycle the Blaster ?
A: Simply turn the Xbox 360's power switch on/off.
Q: Can I extract SS/DMI/PFI sectors from original 360 games to my
PC?
A: Yes you can.
Q: What is the best SATA card to use ?
A: In our experience the best Sata Card is the VIA 6421 - Buy here.
Q: Do I need the connectivity kit?
A: No. All those functions are built into the Blaster 360 CK3 Edition.
Q: Where can I buy the Blaster 360 ?
A: There is a long list of resellers on the left side of this page
