How To Create a FlashBIOS Compliant DVD

For this tutorial we used Nero Burning Rom 6. You can of course use other versions but 6 is recommended purely because its the latest version up to press. We assume most of you use Nero. If you don't you should visit www.nero.com.
WE RECOMMEND YOU USE ANY DVD-R THAT HAS A RITEK DYE (4x = Ritek G04 / 8x = Ritek G05)

THIS TUTORIAL WILL NOT WORK WITH STANDARD XBOX FORMAT DISCS. YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS GUIDE FOR THAT

OK First open up Nero, you should get this screen.
Make sure a DVD compilation is selected and that NO MULTISESSION is selected.

Click on the ISO tab. Set all your settings as shown on the screen - these are very important.
If you do not follow this instruction correctly the disc will not work!

For this tutorial we named the DVD label "X3_BIOS" - This is optional of course.
You may want to name it as the name of the bios file for future reference and storage.

Now select the Burn tab. Note all the settings in the picture. We are using a DVD-R that can write at 4x.
The best DVD-R to use is any Ritek based disc (Great brands are Datasafe & Ridata). Now click New.

The Bios.bin (X3 Bios renamed manually to Bios.bin - IT HAS TO BE CALLED BIOS.BIN or the disc WILL NOT WORK)
and Dummy.bin are save on the desktop. Select them and drag the files to the window on the left.

Note how the filenames automatically change to uppercase. This is correct and shows that you
de-selected Joliet as instructed in the second image from the top of this tutorial. If the filenames do
not change to uppercase you did something wrong and the disc WILL NOT WORK! uppercase. As you
can see this process is automated by Nero. Now simply click the Burn icon as shown in the picture.

Check all the settings are correct. You may be using DVD-R that is 1x, 2x, 8x or 16x. Don't worry the
process is the same. Now click Burn.

This is pretty much what you can expect to see on screen mid way through the burn process.

Voila! All finished. It wasn't that hard at all was it ? Just so you
know a 4x burn takes around 4 minutes so you're not waiting too long.
