View Full Version : Chip works with v1.6, but the box doesn't listen for FTP

I have everything installed correctly. I did the LPC header mod, etc. and I get the box to work fine with the EvoX m8_16 bios, and play games, etc. But I can't ftp to the box. I hook it up directly to my wireless router and set the Xbox for a dynamic IP.
When I go to the Xbox to check the settings, it shows the IP address, default gateway, etc. correctly. My router is showing that it leased an IP address to the Xbox as well.
Do i NEED to use a crossover cable??? It shouldn't matter if it's using IP. I must have missed something when flashing?? Please help!!!
Thanks!

do you have ports blocked on your router that would sto pyou from ftp-ing (port 21)? or a firewall running on the machine that you are trying to ftp from?
doesn't make sense that they'd be blocked internally... but it cant hurt to check.

You're probably right. I don't have a crossover cable handy, but I'll try hooking it up to a switch rather than to the switch on the router. It's a wireless router and I don't have the ethernet card handy for my laptop. I'll hook it up to my desktop and see what happens and let you know.
Thanks!

Still didn't work.
Did I forget to do something when I flashed the chip??

Thanks to the one guy that tried to help!
I didn't realize that EvoX has two parts, the BIOS and the software you put on the Xbox hard disk. It definitely is all set up correctly now.
