Hey guys,
i bought a xbox with the problem of having sound but no image, i did some research and found out that the rrod kit would fix this, i orded a kit of ebay (not a Xecuter kit) with spring washer's and so on, it workerd for about 5 hours, then the screen had white pixels all over the place, i then turned of the xbox and back on and now the xbox wont display an image or play sound, the kit i bought did not have any pads no nylon washers, its an old xbox, different heatsink compared to my new xbox, what do you guys suggest?

Well you did apply the fix so it could raise the best answer being the HANA/ANA Scaler chip. This chip is just north of the GPU and it controls the output of graphics to the television. The X-Clamp fix only fixes the GPU and CPU. You can try overheating the console for longer by keeping the CPU heatsink cool and letting the other heatsinks overheat since the CPU controls when the Xbox overheats so if it's cool the Xbox wont overheat fast and that will allow the HANA/ANA scaler chip and the GPU to get a good reflow.

Thanks, yeah i but the fan ontop of the cpu and let the other heatsinks overheat, it did work one time, but it was blinking of and of the t.v with white pixels on the screen again.
The chip is the small chip just above the gpu?

Yes it's that really small chip closest to the fans just north of the GPU. You might need to use a heatgun to heat up the chip. Also to make sure that it could eb that chip that's causing the problem, there were two version of how the chip was placed on the motherboard. One war had the connections around the chip (image 1 (http://media.photobucket.com/image/hana%20scaler%20chip/b4nmrsmooth/e74/74003.jpg)). the other newest way is with it using solder balls underneath. (image 2 (http://media.photobucket.com/image/hana%20scaler%20chip/option350z/f_360elitemobm_b1b37ef-1.jpg)). if yours is image 1 then the HANA chip cannot be the problem because there's no way for the connections to separate but if it's image 2 then the chip is most likely the problem and you will need to use a heatgun to reflow the chip.

for heatgunning, do i need to protect the motherboard in anyway if so then what should i use and how would i apply to protection lets say tin foil cut a hole for the hana and the rest over all the parts? and pictures? thanks for the reply.

You may not want to take my advice but I don't use any protection. I believe that you can actually do more harm at time with protection then without it because once I was doing a heatgun fix on my laptop and the heat went under a gap on the tinfoil and started burning some parts because the hot air couldn't escape plus i couldn't see the problem.
The caps can handle a good amount of heat, more then enough to get the job done on the chip your re-flowing. The only think you have to mostly worry about if your not using protection is the plastic sata connection for the DVD Drive, I melted that part a bit once it's not hard to do. I usually do a 3 minute heat gun fix and it worked every time so far. I start at a temp of 250 fahrenheit then go to 450 then back to 250 then let it cool down by itself. You can search in google for tons of heatgun guides. i suggest you look at many of them and take knowledge from each one then apply it to your own method of doing it.
