swapping liteon dg-16d2s-09c

Ok. I recently purchased and xbox 360 hoping to be able to play backed up games. Unfortunately I have the August edition that can not currently be modded. I have tried everything possible and have come to the conclusion that I have the drive that currently is not able to be modded. I was curious if I was to change out the dvd drive with an earlier xbox 360 drive, then would I be able to flash it?

I have seen that method. I'm not a big fan of soldering. Can someone tell me though, if I use the earlier liteon drive will it work in my 360?

you will still need the key from the original drive. i would wait for a non-solder solution to come out.

it maybe sooner than you think, if you can't wait have someone do the soldering for you ;).
