What would be cool is if the xDrive had Ethernet / RJ45 support. Have it so that the network is disconnected when the xDrive is active and connected when using the internal drive. Thoughts?

Why what would be the point???

It would add a considerable cost to retail price !

My thought was prompted by the recent November 2009 banning. I figured with the switching you would be assured you weren't on Live when playing a backup copy of a game, but could then go on Live with an original game DVD and drive with original firmware. Wouldn't need to plug - unplug or try to remember which was which.

It probably wouldn't be necessary to switch all 8 wires either, just a couple would do.
