Status: Offline Exclamation Xecuter 360 RROD Repair Kit Ready and Shipping
From team-xecuter.com:
Quote:

After a LOT more testing to ensure the optimum materials used in the 360 RROD Repair Kit we are now ready to start making the kits up and to start shipping.

There will be 2 kits available:
* 1 Xbox 360 Bulk Kit: Includes Repair Materials for 1 Xbox 360, 1 x T10 Screwdriver & 1 x T8 Screwdriver)
* 10 Xbox 360's Kit: Includes Repair Materials for 10 Xbox 360's (This kit is assumed for repair "professionals" who would already have tools in hand)

All machines tested so far are still working however it is impossible to say how long the fix can work for due to the fact we'd never get it to market if we had to test for a year But the fix is pretty solid and our testers are very happy (and surprised) by the results of such a simple fix.

The cost is very cheap and we will be notifying all resellers of the confirmed RRP when they receive stocks in the next week or so. As you can see we have made this kit affordable to everyone so regardless of how long the fix works for it makes sense for everyone to give it a try !

Our current estimates are:
1 Single Xbox 360 Kit $9.95 each
10 Single Xbox 360 Kits $8.95 each
50 Single Xbox 360 Kits $7.95 each
100 Single Xbox 360 Kits $6.95 each
1000 Single Xbox 360 Kits $4.95 each

(Bulk Kits are for 10 Xbox 360's - Includes repair materials only - no screwdrivers, printed instructions or retail packaging)
1 Bulk Xbox 360 Kit $8.95 each (10 Xbox 360's)
10 Bulk Xbox 360 Kit $6.95 each (100 Xbox 360's)
50 Bulk Xbox 360 Kit $5.95 each (500 Xbox 360's)
100 Single Xbox 360 Kits $4.95 each (1,000 Xbox 360's)
1000 Single Xbox 360 Kits $3.95 each (10,000 Xbox 360's)

Note: These RRP are current estimates - we will have a final RRP within the next week.

Hi all,

Received my kit today from shopneo.co.uk comprises of the 2 x torx drivers pictured and some interesting thermal pads for the memory modules located on the bottom of the motherboard. I have yet to fit because im at work but have 3 x RROD consoles awaiting my arrival home so will report back. My initial thoughts are sceptical but I refuse to pass judgement before fitment !

ok done mine as ayiz said putting pads on mem chips under board. tried to turn it on and still got red lights, took 3 attempts to get the dash to boot, tried a game and it crashed, left it on for 15 mins then rebooted, dash came strait on, loaded the hexit game that came on the harddrive and left it running when i went out at 6pm, came back at 9:30 and it was still running.. success.

btw shopneo posted this link to an install guide :

Having now fitted the kit I feel I should say my piece for the kit and the repair scene that has developed.....

I have been buying faulty xbox 360 units from a well known auction site for over a year now. The console I successfully repaired today used the Team Xecuter kit and was my 13th successful repair. I have used many techniques and black magic to acheive a complete fix for all the consoles purchased.

I believe the kit clearly demonstrates a design flaw that was nearly addressed by the "eraser mod" but where as the erasers essentially added to the problem by increasing the temperature of the ram modules, the Team Xecuter kit does the opposite. The heat generated by these modules clearly has a detramental effect on the GPU located above by increasing its already high running temperatures.

The GPU's cooling systems are inadequate and the console in general is poorly assembled. This is clearly obvious on disassembly by observing the lack of continuity with which the thermal compound is applied at the factory. I use personal application of thermal compound in a home PC enviroment as a point of reference. This has also been picked up and addressed by the repair "scene".

So with the ram modules overheating the GPU and the poor cooling system the solder does inevitably lose contact with the board and so the RROD occurs. The poor X-clamps simply make matters worse so I believe stabilizing the heatsink with M5 machine screws and suitable washers is a must.

I believe the point i am making here is that if you purchase the repair kit clearly sold as a non permanent repair and attach the heatsink pads to your ram modules and expect the console to work each and everytime you are mislead.
Essentially your GPU does still not have contact with the motherboard. This can be overcome by various means which have been documented, leaving the console on, using a heat gun etc, baking (which i don't recommend).

The kit I recieved and fitted today has helped repair this console and I believe is a more permanent fix. I have repaired all of the consoles thus far using these techniques but knew that ultimately the GPU's would overheat and lose contact which after varying times have done and continue to do so.

However I believe that buy effectively cooling these modules using the Team Xecuter repair kit you will have a much more stable console and a more permanent fix. I am very happy with my purchase and the way in which Team Xecuter has attempted to tackle the problem.

If this helps some of you out there....great, if you disagree with my techniques or comments then please enlighten me but I think all of my experiences including today have left me in a positive frame of mind regarding the longevity of my own and my friends once faulty consoles.

Just to add vaildity to my points, 17 hours on and at least 4 hours of solid play and console is still functioning correctly even running at 1080i. The owner of the console has even commented on the console being more quiet under load.
