Xecuter LT Switch (ALL LITEON DRIVES) - Installation *UPDATED 3/11/2010*
UPDATED 3/11/2010
First you need to remove the DVD drive from the Xbox 360. Instructions can be found here This is the tutorial for the Xecuter LT Switch. It is required by Liteon drives 83850V2 and 93450. You cannot read the DVD key without this procedure. The DVD key is required if you want to upgrade the firmware or replace with another DVD drive. Without the DVD key you can do nothing. There are many tutorials discussing all other aspects of firmware upgrading and swapping dvd drives - use those tutorials. This tutorial will simply cover how to install the LT switch. We have made it very simple and easy to follow. If you have no soldering experience and have no idea how to cut a trace on a PCB do not attempt this install and get someone to do it for you. It takes very little skill but if you do it wrong it WILL damage your DVD drive. Recommended Parts: Xecuter CK3 Pro (Rev D): Buy Here Xecuter LT Switch: Buy Here Soldering Iron: Anything from 15w to 30w with a very fine tip (Perfect for beginners. Anything hotter / heavier and you risk damaging the PCB unless you are experienced) - Weller is a recommended brand. Solder: .032" 60/40 Rosin-Core Solder is recommended: Buy Here Flux - It is VERY important that you use flux when soldering. I personally use a Chemtronics No-Clean Flux Dispensing Pen. Xacto Style Knives for cutting traces: Buy Here Fiberglass Scratch Pen for cleaning the PCB solder points: Buy Here For this tutorial we are using a Liteon 93450 DVD Drive.

Re: Xecuter LT Switch - Installation
I removed all the posts in this thread as they were confusing garbage and some really really dumb questions (e.g if i lift the wrong traces will my dvd drive still work?)
If you follow this very simple tutorial it will work. DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF: 1. You cannot solder 2. You have to ask if a sharpened screwdriver is OK for cutting traces 3. You use a red hot poker for a soldering iron and then blame the switch for not working as your soldering is flawless. Guys. This switch is to be installed ONCE. It is not designed to be removed and installed over and over again. If you are an installer we have made it so they are very cheap to buy if you want a bag full of them. When I see installers complaining about this when they are probably making $50 for flashing each drive it just makes me and everyone else want to slap them. Hard. The instructions are crystal. They are not confusing. If you cannot follow them then do not attempt yourself. If it is not working for you then it's probably because your trace cuts or soldering is bad. If you are having problems then you must post a picture of your PCB so that we can assist you - we cannot do anything for you if you don't do this. I've attached a couple of pics to give you an idea of what a complete and utter mess someone can make of this if they have absolutely no clue what they are doing. DO NOT BLAME THE SWITCH if you mess up. BEFORE YOU MAKE A POST IN THIS THREAD PLEASE READ THE NOTICE THAT IS AT THE TOP OF THESE FORUMS - DO NOT IGNORE IT OR YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED !

Re: Xecuter LT Switch - Installation
JaymBynre, The holes make no difference solder in or out. They are the rings of the connection under the green covering. Scrapping the green from the pcb will show you this, http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52557

Re: Xecuter LT Switch - Installation
Yes. Intall, flash, leave it in there. No more soldering. It's a one time install so do it right first time then happy days.
